CITHS 8| Discipling while rejecting Idolatry

Courtney Episode 8

Send us a text

We have all heard “Go and Make disciples.” It was God breathed right? But let’s back up to the reason we were called to make disciples. Our salvation. Without it, we can’t disciple to others. We are also called to be faithful in it all and draw near to the Lord. How do we do that? We fight the good fight, we pray, we read His word, and we love. To make disciples means to dig your heels into His will and His word, and be hearers and doers of the word. We were entrusted with this gift of discipleship. So, let's go!

Hey friends, in today’s episode we talk all about discipling while rejecting the temptation of idolatry within our homes. The importance of knowing God’s word & His power will play the ENTIRE role into how you do this well. I am so glad you are here, so grab a pen and paper, and let's dive in!

Verses mentioned:

Exodus 20:3-6

3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.

4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;

5 you shall not bow down to them nor [a]serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting[b] the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

JONAH 2:8

“Those who regard worthless idols forsake their own mercy.”
